How long does it take to resolve a hospital lien after settlement?

I was involved in a car ac cident in sept of 2011. I settled my case in July 2012. My settlement was 16,000.00 in which i only recieved 2000.00 of that 5335.00 were lawer fees the rest of which were doctor fees because i hadg no insurance. there is 2600.00 left in a trust for this lien and my bill was reduced to 1771.00 which has been paid i just feel that this is unjust and very sad for people in my postion who suffer and experience pain in which i have indured do to someone else.

It sounds like your lien has actually been resolved. If $2,000 was withheld to pay the bill and it was reduced to $1,771, your attorney should pay you the difference, i.e., $229. Personally, I don't feel a lawyer should take more than the client in this type of situation. That is just my opinion however. I don't know how much work your lawyer did. By contract, your lawyer is entitled to the fee provided for in the contract. Good luck.

it sounds like your lien was resolved and your lawyer will pay the lien for you and refund the difference to you. Sometimes it takes several months to resolve hospital liens as hospitals are not very conducive to working with lawyers in my opinion.
