Is it possible to expunge vehicle accidents off your driving record in order to decrease your car insurance?

I was involved in a rental vehicle accident where I fell asleep and ran off the road and crashed into a median on the interstate. The rental was the only vehicle involved and no one was injured, I was giving a ticket for "Failure to stay within lane" though. I was also recently rear ended (as expected, not at fault). I recently requested quote from car insurance companies and they doubled (~$1200 for 6 months) from what I was paying (~$600 for 6 months). I am 23 years old, single, just graduated from college and working full time. Is there a way I could get these incident off my record?

Typically there is no expungement of this type of incident. Insurance companies keep "indexes" of people's driving histories. It is not something the courts have access to. You are in a fairly high risk group because of your age and station in life, and your rates are bound to be a little higher. Many of has have been there. Your rates should go down over time with a good driving records. In the meantime, shop around for the best premium quote.
Good luck.
Given your recent crash history, it may be best to stay with your current insurer to the time being. The rear-end crash should not go down as an at fault crash, which usually gives you an insurance rate break. Most insurance companies have various policies regarding how far back they will look when quoting coverages. Obviously the more time you can put between you and the prior crashes the better raters you will get.
Good luck.
