Can the post office refuse to deliver mail to me?

2 views 1 answers
The mail was delivered to an apartment post office box for larger packages. Normally, they place the key in my mail box to the larger box. I never received the key and didn't realize the mail had been placed in the other box until checking reviewing tracking information from Amazon. They want me to pay $35 to replace the key when I never received it. The value of the packages is only around $20.

I recommend that you meet with the post master for your local post office. It is not clear whether the parcel was placed in the larger box and you were not given the key or whether the key was lost. With respect to parcels, the better option, however inconvenient, is to have the item delivered to the post office and for you to do the pick up in person.
