In a nut shell....my wife of 15 yrs and I are getting divorced. It started 11/11. by feb 2012 she had sold everyhtibg we owned, which was extensive, from my toothbrsush to our vehicles and everything inbetween. I was furious because I got nothing out of it and no clear answer from my lawyer when I wanted to do anything about it. .I was told "it would cost too much to go to court" we also have 5 properties, 2 of which we get rent from. she wont give me 1/2 of that even though our names are on all the properties. again I hear "it would cost too much to go to court. now she is saying she wants alimony even though we both worked full time the entire 15yrs we were married. again I'm told "it would cost too much to go to court. Am I missing something here. ? WHAT CAN I DO?
My advice is to obtain new counsel if you are unhappy. Clearly, the course of events so far has not gone your way. Based upon the facts you have presented, you have much to lose if you are not adequately protected.

The short answer is it does cost money to go to court. If your divorce started in 11/11and she disapated assets after that, she violated the automatic orders, but the only way you can enforce anything is to get a judge involved. You can dismiss your lawyer and represent yourself but you would be doing yourself a great disfavor. If you do not have confidence in your lawyer then you should consider retaining a new one, but going without one is foolish.

You should get a new lawyer who isn’t afraid to litigate. It will be expensive, litigation always is, but it sounds like you need to fight to get what is yours. Whatever you do, you will be much better off with an attorney whom you trust and it sounds like your present attorney has lost your trust for good reason.
