I entered a partnership with a man about a year ago, but I've never got involved in the business, except I put $37500.

He told me that he buys and sells gold dust for profit, and talked to me to join him in the business. After I gave him the money, he said he was going to Africa, and then, he said the bank is not clear the fund yet, so I can't have my money back. Now he said the money is in Arizona, and he was asking me to go, but I've know nothing about this business from day one. Every time I ask him for my money back, he has all kinds of excuses, until now. I am afraid either he is cheating or he wants to harm me, but our partnership agreement end Dec 1st, 2012. I still have no idea what to do. How can I get my money back without putting my life in danger?

How did you meet your 'partner' and do you have positive identification on this person? Do you know if this person has taken money from anyone else other than yourself? Have you seen any documentation that this person is actually in business, and if so, do you know who he purchases from and who he sells to? When you refer to 'partnership', do you mean it was a general partnership or did you invest in a business enity (e.g. a corporation, a limited liability company, etc.)? If you believe this arrangement was a scam, you can report this person to the legal authorities, and you can also bring a civil action for money damages. You certainly should not take any steps that may place your life in danger. Be sure to consult your own attorney to protect your legal rights.
I agree that this looks like a con. Scammers like this keep everyone away by making excuse after excuse. I believe it is unlikely you will see your money again. The other thing scammers are good at is hiding money. When they are finally caught their victims rarely recover.
I hope I am wrong.
Good luck to you.
