I'm getting married in the state of MA in March 2013. My fiance receives a state pension. I'm wondering if I, or his ex would
receive his pension when he dies. He was married to her for approx. 16 years. She is now living in ME.

That depends on whether your fiance elected a survivor's benefit for the pension. If your fiance was previously married, he may have been ordered by the court to make that election. The best thing to do is to ask your fiance what he did.
