Parenting coordinator in Modification of time sharing litigation
Anonymous2 views3 answers
What is the purpose of a parenting coordinator? Do they make any decisions or recommendations to the court? I'm in a high conflict custody battle with my ex. We cannot come to an agreement and I don't want to go to trial but I will if I have to. We are on the docket sound for Jan. we are both pro se.

The parenting coordinator is to help you talk to one another and make reasonable decisions when you are in a high conflict situation. Not every detail should have to be resolved by a court, and even when it is, in high conflict situations, it is generally the court's experience that their order does not end things, that the litigants are back, arguing about what the court order means or how it is to be enforced. The purpose of the parenting coordinator is to minimize this kind of conflict and get the parents working together like adults for the benefit of their children as much as possible.
