MAJOR hair breakage from salon visit

3 views 4 answers
I had an appt. yesterdayat the salon with the owner, i had my dark roots lightened to match my hair, she used bleach...when getting rinsed, i noticed the stylist was putting excessive conditioner in my hair and combing incessantly. At first i thought she was being thorough, but when she finally sat me up and put a towel on myhead an told me not to look, i noticed big clumps of white hairs that i could just pull out. I yelled for her to come over and she admitted she left it in too long and it had burnt and broke at the root, I have 1/2 inch groups of hair on the top of my head sticking out. they did put some protein on my hair to help it from stop breaking, and i have cried off and on since and am stuck wearing a hat to hide it....that is the only way. Is their any recourse???

Take pictures ASAP and schedule an appointment with your doctor so that your injuries are medically documented. If your doctor refers you to a dermatologist definitely do and get evaluated. You should defiantly call a local personal injury attorney to discuss your legal options. Good luck.

Most salons have insurance to cover a mishap such as this. Retain a local lawyer experienced in handling salon injuries so you can get the compensation to which you are entitled. Good luck.

What a nightmare. Yes, there is recourse for what happened to you, but you need to document your claim right away as suggested above. See your doctor for any injuries you sustained and follow his/her instructions. Take good pictures of your head/hair. You should speak with a personal injury lawyer in order to discuss your legal options. I would be happy to answer any questions you have. Best of luck!
