- Notably, he obtained convictions of Martell Welch for a murder on the Belle Isle Bridge in Detroit, as well as Lawrence DeLisle for first-degree murder resulting from the drowning deaths of his four children in the Detroit River
- Simowski was also the architect of Wayne County’s highly successful homicide unit
- Before ending his career with the Prosecutor’s Office, Simowski was the Chief of Staff and Chief of Operations
- In 2004, Mr. Simowski became the Chief of the Criminal Justice Bureau with the Michigan Attorney General’s Office
- He directed five divisions, including Alcohol and Gambling Enforcement, Corrections, Criminal, Criminal Appellate, and Healthcare Fraud
