Why isn't there a class action lawsuit against the U.S.P.S. for forcing us to accept junk mail / not allowing us to refuse it?

The USPS offers no option to stop a lot of types of junk mail and forces us to take it. I would think people would band together and sue them and try to get them to offer some way we can refuse all unaddressed fliers, etc. There are many reasons due to obvious waste, environmental damage, speaking of which, how could we have a legit EPA that allows this to happen?

I think it may have something to do w/the First Amendment. I recycle mine. And since you live in DC you know that the GOP is not a big fan of funding government services and many believe the EPA should be abolished. Good luck

Way back ten years ago the USPS had a big protest but won. Why? USPS makes a lot of money on bulk rates for junk mail. USPS is not going to turn its back on a key profit center

How would you propose that the U.S. Postal Service determine which piece of mail is "junk" and refuse delivery, and which is okay? Do you really want the USPS making judgment calls about what pieces of your mail should be discarded rather than being delivered to you? Would you want to pay a fee to the USPS to cover its costs for additional sorting and disposal of junk mail senders that you wish to block from delivery?
