Did Cupertino raise the min wage effective 2014? And what are the laws concerning reviews and raises? I'm still getting $8/hr!

I've worked at this place in Cupertino for almost a year without a single raise and they're still only paying $8/hr. I work hard, am reliable and honest and yet haven't received a raise. My boss even expects me to buy my own mop and toilet brush to clean with!! I know San Jose increased their min.
wage in March of last year and I'd like to know if Cupertino increased theirs as well. Thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

Go down to Cupertino City Hall or call the City Managers Office and ask them if the City minimum wage has been or will be raised.
I don't know about Cupertino but the State of California has raised the minimum wage which will take effect in July, up to $9.00 per hour, then up to $10.00 per hour starting January 1, 2016. You should check with your local city website ordinances. Other than the minimum wage set by law, employers have no legal obligation to give pay raises, unless contracted for. However, they cannot require employees to pay for expenses which are necessary to perform their job. At the very least you should be reimbursed for incurring such an expense.
