Do I need to apply for independent contractor to avoid double taxation issue(bet US & Singapore)?
I am from Singapore and not residing in US. I am not US citizen.
I am actually planning to run e-commerce store in US.
I noticed Singapore don't have double taxation treaty with US, meaning I have to pay taxes in US and than in my country again, is that correct?
So in order to pay tax in only one of the country, I heard about this but not too sure this is the correct approach.
I only hire myself as independent contractor. If I apply for W-8BEN to confirm the contractors (myself ) foreign status ( means that I am not US citizen and I work most of the time of the year out of the US ). In this case does that mean I only pay taxes in my country and not paying tax to IRS. For this case, does that mean I have to register my company in Singapore and not US?
Another question approach is there a way to register LLC in US but pay only tax to US and no tax being paid to Singapore?
Base on your experience, would you mind share with me what is the best approach for this business in US to gain the best tax return?
