The first spot to look for help with minor landlord/tenant issues is a pamphlet called The Wisconsin Way. A link to it is here: http://datcp.wi.gov/uploads/Consumer/pdf/WisconsinWayWEB.pdf Generally, if there is no written lease agreement, then the notice period to evict someone is one month before the next date rent is due. You need to provide written notice, and keep a copy for yourself, too in case there is a dispute. Also, if a security deposit was paid, you should take a look at the rules and procedures in the pamphlet to properly return the security deposit as well. If you are unsure of how to proceed or an issue becomes disputed, then you should seek the advice of an attorney to assist you. Best of luck to you.
