Does it limit my liability re malpractice, etc by future interns if I convert my llc to a pc?

I am an LPC in private practice, and am evaluating the possibility of taking on clinical interns next year. Clients would be paying the counseling center for services, but the interns themselves would not be paid.

That would do nothing to limit your liability. You limit your liability by having appropriate contracts, having policies, due diligence in hiring and on and on. Please contact a business attorney before you consider taking interns as that, in addition to malpractice, implicates serious employment and other laws.

I sure hope there is some responsibility under the law in CO for the supervising practitioner. If you are concerned about liability perhaps you should consult a business attorney and hire independent contractors who do not require supervision.

No, there is no liability benefit to operating as a PC. This is why almost no new PCs have been created since Colorado started allowing professionals to operate as an LLC. Insurance is your best bet for managing malpractice liability.
