My tenants in Florida left the rental property in a filthy mess and damaged the lanai. We had the damages fixed and sent them the bills along with part of the deposit. They had cashed the check and now they want the whole security deposit. I will not send them the money due to the fact they damaged the house. What is my recourse?

You have not sent them the money. They would have to sue you for the money so make sure you have everything documented.
