What can be done about an attorney who confronted me in absence of my council trying to get my agreement to something.

I was at a meeting attended by plaintiff, her attorney and two brokers who were trying to coerce me to agree to accept changes in a sales contract and also to accept a letter of intent that would tie property up for 15 months with no income. My attorney was not present. The plaintiffs attorney stuck the LOI under my face, waving it and repeating over and over, " Are you going to agree to this now - then give me a date when you will give us an answer to this." She kept accusing me of holding up a good contract. The next day I was told by a county official that she previously told the plaintiff it would take several years to approve the changes that LOI was asking for, if it was accepted at all.

Was the attorney aware that you were represented by an attorney in this matter? If so, had your attorney given her permission to discuss this matter without your attorney present? An attorney cannot communicate with a party who is known to be represented unless the party's attorney has consented. Otherwise it is a violation of ethics. As you didn't sign anything and apparently suffered no harm, the most you could reasonably do (assuming she knew about your attorney and didn't have permission to discuss the case without your attorney present) is to report her actions to the state disciplinary organization.

Tell your attorney what happened. He or she will know exactly what to do.

Let your attorney know immediately. They should be able to handle this for you.
