Generally there is no requirement that you fill the forms in all capital letters however on the I-130 form, it does state to enter the Family Name in all caps. You should carefully follow the instructions that accompany each and every form and seek the advice of an experienced immigration attorney if there is something you are unsure of since as others attorneys here have stated, immigration law is more than just filling out forms.
I just type the last name in all caps.
No. You do not have to. Just make sure you fill them in correctly.
There is no requirement to type information in all caps. It is helpful to type the last name in all caps so it can be identified as a last name. Just make sure you answer clearly, legibly, and that blanks are either answered as N/A or None as appropriate. The importance in filling in forms is to use the correct edition date, accuracy of information, legibility and of course that the forms are signed. Please also be aware that applying for immigration involves more than merely filling in the forms correctly.
NO USING ALL CAPS IS NOT REQUIRED ON IMMIGRATION FORMS.
