Should I file a lawsuit vs a major sandwich chain for a large piece of plastic in a sandwich I bit into?

I ordered for delivery a sandwich from a major chain and during consumption I bit into something hard. I spit it out and it was a 2 inch long piece of clear plastic, very sharp and pointy. I called the store manager and he admitted it was from a broken lettuce tub. Do I have any chance for a monetary settlement?

Very minor. You can only sue for the injuries that happened, not what could have happened. Sounds like nothing happened to you, so I don't see it but certainly consult a local attorney.

I think your best shot is to ask the manager for a free sandwich at your next visit. In order to sue for negligence, you would have to prove by a preponderance of the evidence the following elements: 1. Duty, 2. Breach, 3. Causation, and 4. Damages. You appear to be missing 3 and 4.

Did you suffer any harm? If the worst of it was having plastic between your teeth for a second, then you haven't really suffered much of a loss. You might be able to get a free sandwich or a cookie or drink, though.
