I received a citation for not stopping for a stop sign (40-6-72(b)). I rolled through it.

I am trying to avoid the points on my record, so I believe that “too fast for conditions” might be the best way to go and request that it be reduced to this. Is this the best way to go? I also believe that the date that the citation was issued is wrong (it’s off by one day). I was at home that day, but am sure that I received this on Monday on the way to the doctor’s office, not on the Sunday the day before. How would I proceed if this is a reason to have the ticket dropped? This occurred in Gwinett County, Georgia. Thank you for your assistance.

The ticket will not be dropped as a result of that. As far as the points go, changing it to “too fast for conditions” will not avoid that. If you are concerned about the points, then you need to plea "Nolo" if you have not used a "Nolo" for any other traffic ticket in the last five years. (You can only use it once every five years.) With the "Nolo" plea, you will pay the fine, but the points will not be added to your driving history.
