How do I properly serve Bank of America a summon and complaint in California? I am not a registered server. Teller won't accept.

I went to the local branch and the teller, receptionist, or the supervisor will not accept the summon and complaint.

Your process server will need to serve the agent for service of process in California. You can find this information on the Secretary of State's website: http://kepler.sos.ca.gov/cbs.aspx Most likely, your process server will need to serve CT Corporation, 818 W. Seventh Street, Los Angeles, CA 90017.

As a general principle of law, a litigant who wants to sue a corporation in a given state must find out who the registered agent for service of process upon the corporation is in that state. Usually the Secretary of State's office, or the State's Division of Corporations, will have that information. Sometimes one can look it up online. As a general matter, a litigant should carefully follow the state's rules for service of process upon the opponent. In all jurisdictions that I know of, formal service on a party is accomplished not by the opposing party, but by a disinterested person over the age of eighteen. Not legal advice as I don't practice law in California. It's just my two cents on your question in light of general principles of law. If you need legal advice, please consult a lawyer who holds California licensure. That's not me.
