I want to file a civil suit on a guy that assaulted me by broking my wrist after he punch and shoved me onto the street....

I was in an altercation with a lady who punched me and I faught back...This guy comes and tries to break us apart and kept shoving me because I would not leave the area...He then tells me "don't f---- with him as I would want to f--- with him" and I answered "why what are you gonna do"...He then punched me in the head and shoved me onto the street breaking my wrist...He was standing next to me ready to hit me again until I yelled that he broke my wrist..The police was called and he was charged with assault 2...This happened 2/1/2012 and my wrist hurts constantly and not able to function my hand like before...He is being sentenced on 8/6/2012 where he might get off with probation and restitution....
