The insurance company makes that decision. It is very possible. Joseph A. Lo Piccolo, Esq. Immediate Past President, Criminal Courts Bar Association 11'-12' Hession Bekoff & Lo Piccolo 1103 Stewart Ave, Suite 200 Garden City, NY 11530 516-408-3666 (o) / 516-408-3833 (f) [email protected]

If you get convicted of no seat belt your permit will be suspended; further, driving without a license was an improper charge it should have been driving out of license class. If you are found guilty of that your insurance will go through the roof. It's best to retain counsel.

You should retain a criminal court attorney. Your insurance premiums can go way up depending on the outcome of the case.

The cellphone tickets will not get you suspended. However it caries 3 points, and would also increase your father's premium. Learners are expected to make mistakes! Therefor learners do not get suspended for tickets on their permit. Most attorneys will look at a fax or a scan of the ticket and inform you of it's admissibility as a correctly charged ticket. most probably it is not, as you are allowed to drive. Ether way you want to higher a lawyer to make sure the court dismiss it. If you show up to court to defend yourself it may not be dismissed. In general the purpose of a defense attorney is to make sure that the prosecution does it's job. In a case like yours it appears that the prosecution, of the cop, is incorrect. Being that both tickets were given at once many attorneys will charge you one flat rate to go to the court one time. So retaining a attorney is suggested for you.
